Cancelled Flight
If we cancel your flight, you have the following options:
If you are a Guest with a disability, you may be eligible for a refund under the following circumstances:
If we cancel your flight, you have the following options:
- Refund: Choose not to travel and receive a refund for your outbound flight and return flight, if applicable.
- Rebooking: We will rebook you on the next available Spirit flight or you can choose a different flight (departing within 7 days) at no additional charge.
- If you accept the rebooking, rebook yourself, or travel on the rebooked flight, you are no longer eligible for a refund.
- Automatic Refund: If you do not accept your rebooked flight or decide not to travel, a refund for all flights not flown on your reservation will be automatically processed to the original form of payment within 7 business days.
Significantly Delayed Flights and Schedule Changes
If your flight is delayed or rescheduled by more than 2 hours from the original departure time, you have the following options:
- Refund: Choose not to travel and receive a refund for your outbound flight and return flight, if applicable.
- If you travel on the delayed flight, you are no longer eligible for a refund.
- Rebooking: Rebook to the next available Spirit flight at no additional charge.
- Automatic Refund: If you decide not to board your significantly delayed flight, a refund for all flights not flown on your reservation will be automatically processed to the original form of payment within 7 business days.
Downgrade in travel option
- If you’re downgraded to a different travel option than what was purchased, we will attempt to place you back to the originally purchased travel option prior to departure.
- If we are unable to rebook you in the same travel option but you decide to travel, you will automatically be refunded the price difference between the originally purchased and the new travel option within 7 business days after boarding your flight. The good news is that there is no need to contact us for this refund.
- If you received a message from us stating that you are now in a different travel option, please check for the latest updates in the Spirit App or in My Trips. If you decide not to travel, please click here and select “Let’s Chat” for your options, which include a refund.
Other Refund Scenarios
You may be eligible for a refund under the following circumstances:
- Changes are made to your departure or arrival airports, or extra stops are added to your journey.
- There is a change in your flight number.
Guests with Disabilities
If you are a Guest with a disability, you may be eligible for a refund under the following circumstances:
- Connecting Airport Change: There is a change in the connecting airport.
- Aircraft Substitution or Downgrade: There is an aircraft substitution or a downgrade in your travel option with fewer accessibility features.
