Can I pay with cash?

In order to create a faster and more efficient airport experience for our customers, some domestic Spirit airport locations no longer accept cash, traveler’s checks, certified (cashier’s) checks, or money orders as a form of payment.

NOTE: Spirit will NOT accept cash, traveler’s checks or money orders in the gate area at any of our airport locations, both domestically and internationally.

The following Spirit airports locations accept credit/debit cards only at both the ticket counters AND in the gate area:

Some airports have cash conversion kiosks available for customers to convert cash into a prepaid debit card for a $5* charge. Any charges associated with the use of a cash conversion machine are collected by the company who owns and operates the machine.

NOTE: We strongly encourage customers who use a prepaid debit/gift card to refrain from throwing away their card (even if the card is empty) until their travel is complete. In the event the customer’s travel is interrupted, any applicable refund can only be issued to the prepaid debit/gift card.
