Wheelchair Assistance:
We’re happy to help you! Below are the best steps to take to get wheelchair assistance throughout your travels. Identifying yourself at the airport is key to getting timely assistance.
 

  1. Add wheelchair assistance to your booking through one of these options:
    1. My Trips section of our website homepage. From there, follow the instructions to access your reservation. Scroll down to the Passenger section then click "ADD" next to "Additional Info" and select the type of wheelchair assistance needed
    2. Text or call us at 855-728-3555
  2. Request assistance upon arrival at the airport:
    1. Ask a Spirit Team Member or our wheelchair service provider –the ticket counter is your best location
    2. We will provide assistance within 20 minutes of your request
    3. Arrive early – at least 2 hours prior to your domestic flight or 3 hours for international
    4. If you need curbside assistance outside of our terminal, have a family member or friend request this for you at the ticket counter or with our service provider
  3. We will assist you with the following:
    1. Printing your boarding pass, if needed
    2. Dropping off your checked bag, if applicable
    3. Going through TSA
    4. To a restroom/restaurant on the way to your gate (time permitting)
      1. We will not assist you inside the restroom, only to the restroom
  4. Once at the gate:
    1. We will check on you every 30 minutes
    2. We will help you board before other Guests, if requested
    3. Assist you if your gate changes – please alert a Spirit Team Member
  5. Once onboard:
    1. A Flight Attendant can use an onboard wheelchair if you need help to a lavatory
    2. Click here to review which aircraft has an accessible lavatory and for seating needs
  6. Upon arriving at your destination:
    1. Remain onboard until all other Guests have deplaned
    2. Alert a Flight Attendant that you will need wheelchair assistance
    3. Identify yourself with our wheelchair service provider at the gate that you need assistance
    4. Assistance is provided after the last Guest deplanes
    5. We will assist you to the baggage claim and/or curb in front of the Spirit terminal, or to your connecting flight


Aisle wheelchair and onboard wheelchair assistance:

If you need help getting to your seat, you have the option to request an aisle wheelchair. Please see the steps below to request this assistance.

  1. Add wheelchair assistance to your booking through one of these options:
    1. My Trips section of our website homepage. From there, follow the instructions to access your reservation then click "ADD" next to "Additional Info" and select the type of wheelchair assistance needed
    2. Text or call us at 855-728-3555
  2. At the gate:
    1. Inform a Spirit Team Member that you need an aisle chair
  3. Pre-boarding:
    1. If you want to board before other Guests, arrive before the boarding process
    2. Request this from a Spirit Team Member
  4. While boarding:
    1. There will be two specially trained agents from our wheelchair service provider who will assist you down the jet bridge, transfer you to the aisle chair, and then to your seat
  5. During flight:
    1. A Flight Attendant can use an onboard wheelchair if you need help to a lavatory during your flight

  6. Upon landing at your destination:
    1. You will remain in your seat until all other Guests deplane
    2. Two agents will assist you into the aisle chair and then to your wheelchair on the jet bridge
