What time do I need to arrive at the airport for my flight?

We do everything possible to get you where you want to be on time. Don’t worry about having to run through security, give yourself time to get to the airport and arrive at least two hours prior to your scheduled departure for domestic flights and at least three hours prior to a departure for an international flight.

In addition, the TSA screening requirements have recently changed and require that customers checking baggage at the ticket counter or Fast Bag Drop must do so at least 30 minutes before departure (45 minutes for Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, and San Juan; 60 minutes for international and U.S.V.I. flights).

Spirit reserves the right to cancel the reservation or seat assignment of any customer who does not have a boarding pass at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled departure; 45 minutes for Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/ Ft. Worth, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Juan; and 60 minutes prior to the original scheduled departure time for all International including U.S.V.I. flights.

You will need to be at the boarding gate at least 15 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights (30 minutes prior for international departures) or you may lose your reservation.

Please be prepared and give yourself plenty of time for your upcoming trip.
